Christine Piché

Christine became the director general of the Corporate Strategies and Services Branch at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) in December 2021. She oversees the delivery of several essential functions, including international relations and policy development, data analysis and dissemination, facilities and security, and the budgeting process for strategic planning and integrated reporting.

Christine previously occupied executive positions at CIPO as senior director of the Patent Branch and director of the Services to Business team.

Prior to joining CIPO, Christine worked for the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) as director of the Business Support Team. While there, she led a team of IP and contracting experts who worked to maximize the value of their IP. She was also responsible for developing an IP strategy that supported the needs of both the NRC and the Canadian public.

Christine is a registered Canadian patent agent and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration.
